Katherine Man’s $2 Million Lotto Ticket Found On Fridge

A man from Katherine in the Northern Territory is $2 Million richer after finally checking the lotto ticket he had left on the fridge door for more than a month.

The winning ticket was one of two winners in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3839 on May 5, splitting the $4,026,289.60 prize pool for $2,013,144.80 each. However the man from Katherine, who wishes to remain anonymous after purchasing his unregistered 50-game QuickPick entry at Katherine Exposure Photographics. While he had heard there was a winner from the region he did not think there was any chance that he could be that winner.

“I had the ticket on the fridge at home the whole time,” the man told a Tatts official.

“I downloaded the results online and I started going through the ticket and then I saw I had all six numbers in a row.”

“I only realised how much the prize was today — I wasn’t sure if that prize was shared or whether I got that full amount.”

“It’s just fantastic. It would take you all your life to earn that amount.”

“Some of it will get used on things we need, but the rest will make a nice little nest egg for our future.”

The winning numbers for Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3839 were 34, 28, 22, 42, 45, 10, with supplementary numbers 11 and 3.
